Sweet things so far:

* My 17-year old cat playing like crazy with one of her toy-rats early this morning which she then resolutely placed next to my head on the pillow. "Look what I brought you!"

* Finding a bunch of magazines, books and a very pretty pin I'd completely forgotten about in one the upper cabinets.

* Pia offering to go to the store in case I needed anything since I haven't been feeling too well after the flu shot.

* Watching the latest episode of Nevermind The Buzzcocks and realizing how funny Jamelia is.

* Mom calling to check up on me.

Why can't I be really good at *anything*?

I almost wish I was a teenager again. Then I'd have an excuse for being over-dramatic and self-centered.

Obama won this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Eh? I like the guy but for what? When the nominations for the award were sent out, he had been president for TEN DAYS. Did he really do that much during those days?

Thanks to petalbentdevil for bringing this girl to my attention. Not only does she rip Kirk Cameron and his stupid beliefs a new one in one of her videos, but here she tackles one my biggest annoyances: people claiming that "God helped them" when there are so many people suffering that obviously aren't getting "God's help":

I cut my finger on the metal case on my stereo last night, when I opened it to vacuum out the dust. Hurt like hell and damn thing won't heal. Stupid blood-thinners. Stereo still pretty much works how and when it wants to, but it was worth a try I guess. I'm gonna burn myself some CDs now.

Season 4 of Criminal Minds starts here tonight and I haven't seen the entire previous season. Dammit. Better get it on DVD. If only it was a bit cheaper...
